g's Camp

The intention for this camp is for all of us to contribute to the playa as g’s, together, and we hope to provide amazing hospitality and our unique family vibe!

Suggestions:

1) Do you

2) Do stuff from the spirit of gifting, rather than communal obligation

3) No prerequisite exists to include people

Interactivity -
The Restoration Tent

One of the main interactive offerings at our camp will be our air-conditioned restoration tent. Inside, visitors will find a peaceful and serene space for meditation, breathwork, and group discussions. We will facilitate conversations on cultural adaptation, drawing from the diverse experiences of our campers who have migrated and immigrated to the US from all around the world. These discussions will provide a platform for sharing and learning about different cultures and perspectives, and will help to create a sense of community and belonging for those who have so often felt like outsiders.

In addition to these more introspective activities, we will also offer a range of games for visitors to enjoy. Backgammon, chess, checkers, and card games will all be available for those looking to unwind and connect with others. We believe that games are a great way to build relationships and create a sense of belonging.

A multi-sensory experience

We will also be serving a variety of tea's from around the world, each with its own unique flavor and cultural significance. Our aim is to transport visitors on a sensory journey, allowing them to taste and experience new flavors and aromas from different corners of the globe we each represent. We believe taste plays a significant role in reminding us of home. We hope to heal any homesickness and fill that longing for familiar love with deep connection.

For those looking to relax and unwind, we will also be offering a massage table. Visitors can bring their own partners or find a willing volunteer, and we will provide a range of oils and lotions for a truly indulgent experience. We believe that self-love and relaxation are just as important as exploring at Burning Man, and we hope to provide a space where visitors can truly unwind and reconnect within.

Finally, we will be transporting visitors around the world with various essential oils and smells from our homes. Whether it's the woody aroma of copal or the fresh scent of the Mediterranean sea, we hope to create a multi-sensory experience that will transport visitors to far-flung destinations, that we call home.

Come find the g's

In terms of scheduling, our camp will have set times for the meditation, breath work, and group discussions, as well as for the tea service and games. The set times are listed below

  • Tuesday: 3pm to 5pmGeremony: Violin and Guided dance!

  • Thursday: 5pm to 7pmRestorative yoga and Acoustic Sounds

  • All days: Restoration Tent: Games, cultural discussions, self-service spa, and tea — 24 people

With that being said we do recognize that many of our visitors may prefer more spontaneous or flexible experiences, and we will be open to accommodating these as well. For example, visitors may want to join in an impromptu game of cards or participate in a spontaneous discussion about a current event or topic of interest.  Knowing how easily campers can stumble in, the tent will be open to anyone who’s looking for a haven.

If a visitor walks up to our camp, they can expect to be warmly welcomed and invited to participate in any of our offerings. They may be invited to join in a game, share a cup of tea, or simply relax and unwind in our air-conditioned tent. We believe that Burning Man is all about connection and community, and we hope to provide a space where visitors can truly feel at home.

Reflections from Waking Dreams

As a returning camp, we have transformed our interactivity this year with exciting changes that we can't wait to share. While we won't be constructing an art installation this year, we've taken the time to reflect on what truly made our previous interactivity shine. The most triumphant and unforgettable experience was providing a space for meaningful discussion. Passersby were drawn to The Face, where they connected with fellow Burners, shared stories, and bonded over their experiences. It was a beautiful moment that we want to continue fostering.

Radical Inclusion, Diversity & Equity

Our camp, community and our gSpot interactivity tent, all contribute to the effort of making BRC more radically inclusive and diverse. At core, all of our members are a community of artists & participants exploring the new & unique while honoring the little tasks and actions that ground us every day. Our camp includes members from all walks of life from Lebanon, Turkey, Guatemala, Germany, the Netherlands etc.

Our restoration tent personifies RIDE. The activities are inclusive by design, only complete upon radical inclusion of all that join to restore. It's diverse in essence, has our favorite restoring activities from all cultures. It's all-inviting, with diverse speakers and guides, promoting fun, equality and integrity. The essence of our uniqueness in the importance of group action.
